    • Lincoln Culinary Institute (LCI) is a renowned and accredited cooking school with campuses in Hartford and Suffield. The modern Hartford campus is located close to downtown and houses six kitchens and two amphitheaters. As a rural alternative, the 64-acre Suffield branch campus provides student housing and seven kitchens. The LCI offers three educational tracks: the Advanced Culinary Arts Program, the Professional Pastry and Baking Program, and the Advanced Italian Culinary Arts Program. The Advanced Culinary Arts Program is a four-semester, 41.9 credit hour program with 20 weeks of paid externships to enhance professional experience. The program spans a range of critical cooking knowledge, including theory, technique, international cuisine, and food service operations. Similarly, the Professional Pastry and Baking Program requires the same commitment, with attention to pastry and artistry techniques and hands-on practice. The Advanced Italian Culinary Arts Program demands 58.7 credits over five semesters, including study in Monferrato, Italy. Each program strives to send its students out into the professional world with practical experience and thorough knowledge.

    Clemens College

    • Clemens College, formerly known as the International College of Hospitality Management, offers a Culinary Arts Management Program that prepares future chefs for culinary business careers. Students may choose from three tracks in the Culinary Arts for Small Business and Entrepreneurs program: restaurant owner/chef, food photographer/food stylist, and personal/private chef. Alternately, the Culinary Arts for Commercial and Health Care Dining program prepares students to manage dining services at the university, corporate, or retirement community levels. The program consists of 12 months of coursework with an additional six months of paid externships.

    Culinary Works

    • Culinary Works is a small institute run by Julia Deane and based out of New Canaan and Stamford. Interested students can participate in workshops to gain beneficial skills for corporate events, private parties, or holiday festivities. Parties of eight or more are welcome to schedule a cooking party in Deane's kitchen or in the comfort of their own homes. Deane suggests her cooking parties as a fun activity for ladies' nights, birthday parties, team building, bachelorette parties, and more. Her classes are appropriate for those interested in improving their culinary knowledge without joining a full-time culinary institute.

    Consiglio's

    • Several restaurants in Connecticut promote the culinary arts with periodic cooking classes open to the public. Consiglio's Italian restaurant of New Haven is one Connecticut restaurant to offer a cooking class club, wherein students participate in two- or three-class sessions focusing on signature Italian dishes. The sessions are suitable for cooks of all levels interested in improving their Italian repertoire. Classes take place in the evening hours and cost $65. Reservations are necessary.
