    • The internationally renowned Le Cordon Bleu College of Culinary Arts was founded as a cooking school in Paris in 1895. Today, professional chefs provide hands-on training to Le Cordon Bleu culinary students at more than 15 accredited campuses across the U.S., including one in Sacramento. Le Cordon Bleu College of Culinary Arts in Sacramento accepts new and transfer students. Prospective students must be high school graduates or equivalent. Financial aid is available for students who qualify. Two programs are offered at the Sacramento campus--Le Cordon Bleu Patisserie and Baking program, and Le Cordon Bleu Culinary Arts program. Successful students of either program will receive a certificate upon completion of the coursework.

    • The Art Institute of California at Sacramento was established in 2007. The 45,000 square foot school features classrooms, laboratories/working kitchens, student lounges, exhibit space and a library. Associate's degrees are available in Culinary Arts and Baking & Pastries. Diplomas are available in The Art of Cooking and Baking & Pastries. A Bachelor's Degree in Culinary Management is also available. Classes in Culinary Management are available online. Laboratory classes in all disciplines are limited to 35 students per lab, and lectures are limited to 40 students per class. Financial aid and career services counseling are available to students who qualify.

    American River College

    • American River College is a community college located in Sacramento. American River College offers an 18-month Culinary Arts program. Students of the Culinary Arts program at American River College will learn the business theory of restaurant management, as well as hands-on training in the art of cooking. As part of the program, students will spend one semester working in the kitchen of Oak Cafe, a fine dining establishment run by students. American River College offers certificates in Culinary Arts/Restaurant Management and Introductory Baking. An Associate's Degree is offered in Hospitality Management/Culinary Arts/Restaurant Management. Financial aid is available.
