    Culinary Academy of Austin

    • The Culinary Academy of Austin offers comprehensive programs in professional culinary arts and pastry arts. With small class sizes of 15 students per instructor, prospective culinary professionals get individualized instruction and hands-on training experience. Students enrolled in the Professional Culinary Arts program take five, three semester blocks of classes. Additionally, each student must complete a 400-hour externship experience. The Culinary Academy of Austin is accredited by the American Culinary Federation Education Foundation, the Council on Occupational Education, and the Texas Workforce Commission. Admission requirements include either a high school degree or GED, essay, two letters of recommendation from individuals who can evaluate the student's ability and/or culinary experience, and a professional resume.

    The Natural Epicurean Academy of Culinary Arts

    • The Natural Epicurean Academy of Culinary Arts in Austin offers professional-level culinary programs in plant-based food preparation. Students will learn about macrobiotic food preparation, vegetarian and vegan foods, and raw food techniques. The school's Chef Training Program provides students with over 500 hours of classroom training, a 174-hour assistantship, and 160 hours of hands-on externship experience. Class size is limited to 24 students. Individuals interested in the Academy's professional level program may attend a school open house to learn more.
