Massachusetts Dental Hygiene Schools

Dental hygienists work in partnership with medical dentists and dental assistants to improve and protect the oral health of patients. Their duties typically include performing dental examinations, processing x-rays, removing plaque from teeth, applying fluoride treatments and instructing patients on how to care for their teeth. The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics finds that the demand for well-trained dental hygienists will grow by about 36 percent through to 2018. Several schools in the state of Massachusetts offer training programs in dental hygiene.
