AutoCAD Drafting Schools

AutoCAD is a computer-aided drafting software application that allows design and drafting to be done more quickly and efficiently than by hand. At AutoCAD schools, students learn to create technical drawings and plans used by constructions workers to build products and structures, including everything from toasters, toys and industrial machinery to houses, office buildings, pipelines and even spacecraft.
  1. The Art Institute of Las Vegas

    • The Art Institute of Las Vegas offers a 21-month drafting technology with AutoCAD program that results in an associate's degree. Focused on building construction, the program is for acquiring the skills necessary for entry-level drafting positions. These skills include learning basics such as line work, lettering, drafting principles, as well as how to use codes specifications and reference materials. Hands-on training focuses on learning Computer Aided Drafting (CAD) and both commercial and environmentally sustainable design.

    Herzing University

    • Herzing University offers a 20-month Associate of Science in drafting and design technology. The program prepares graduates to work in various fields, including aerospace, electronics and architecture. Graduates learn CAD software skills and how to meet the needs of specific industries. For more advanced training, Herzing University also offers a Bachelor of Science in technology management. This program combines AutoCad training with business and management courses for career advancement into supervisory or management positions.

Sullivan College of Technology and Design

    • Sullivan College of Technology and Design offers both a Certificate in Drafting and a more rigorous Associate of Applied Science degree. In either program you'll train on the CAD software in small class settings for extensive individualized instruction. You'll learn to create electronic drawings that apply to creating automated manufacturing systems, to develop structural blueprints and site plans for commercial buildings or private homes and learn traditional drafting techniques.

    Southwest Florida College

    • Southwest Florida College offers a 24-month Associate of Science degree in computer-aided drafting and design. You'll learn to develop technical drawings with drafting software as well as traditional drafting tools.
