Drafting Design Schools

The days of sitting at a large drafting board and drawing by hand are in the past. These days, most drafters use computer-aided design software. The field of drafting is expected to grow by 4 percent in the years between 2008 and 2018, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics. The same government agency estimates average yearly wages at $44,490 as of May 2008. Job prospects are best for those educated at drafting design schools.
