How to Install a Lab-Volt FACET

Lab Volt's fault-assisted circuits for electronics training (FACET) are electronic programs designed to teach students about advanced electronic concepts. FACET course work is controlled and accessed through computers with FACET Tech-Lab installed. With Tech-Lab installed, you can access FACET courses and begin your computer-assisted, advanced electronic training.

      Insert the "FACET Tech-Lab" CD-ROM into your computer's disc drive. Click on the "Start" button found in the lower, left corner of the screen and click on "My Computer." Double-click on the "Tech-Lab" icon in the "D:" and double-click on "Setup.exe."

      Mark the box next to the words "I accept the agreement" beneath the license agreement indicating that you understand the licensing terms and click the "Next" button.

      Read the information in the information window that pops up and click "Next." Click the box next to the words "Configure Tech-Lab for Standalone Operation" so you can access all FACET data locally and click the "Next" button.

      Click the "Browse" button and select the destination where the Tech-Lab and FACET information will get stored. Click the "Next" button once you've made your choice.

      Click on the "Next" button when the confirmation window pops up to confirm your installation request. Click the "Finish" button when the installation completes.

      Double-click on the "Tech-Lab" icon on the desktop or if the icon doesn't automatically appear, click on "Start," "Programs," "Lab Volt" and "Tech-Lab" to start the program.

      Fill in the login options by creating a username and setting a password if you desire or click on "Automatic Login" to leave the system open to all users.

      Click the "OK" button and begin your work with "FACET."
