Visit Intuit’s website (see Resources) and download a free copy of QuickBooks. Take advantage of the free trial option to add customers and learn how to navigate the software.
View the video offered after the free download is complete. Click on “Help” and “Tutorials” if the video doesn't automatically start.
Enter your banking information and customers into the free QuickBooks version. Practice following the tutorial guidelines by adding invoices, entering payments, setting up bank accounts and printing checks. Learn the types of icons on the screen and what features they access. Hover over each icon and read its description.
Purchase a book targeted for learning QuickBooks for additional training. Buy the version of the book that correlates with the QuickBooks you're using online at Microsoft or via other sites that offer training guides for Microsoft, such as Amazon.
Visit Learnthat.com online and click on the tab that says "By Topic." Scroll down to highlight "QuickBooks Training" and click. Next, click on "View This Tutorial" and download the free step-by-step tutorial (see Resources). Learn to track sales, pay bills, create invoices and organize data.
Take an online class at your local college or at a college that offers distance learning. Using online classes to learn QuickBooks offers the benefit of having an instructor walk you through the various features available from QuickBooks. Classes involve downloading a student version of QuickBooks that allows you to enter information and practice using the features by completing assignments in a college workbook.
