Metro Community College (MCC) offers a certified nurse assistant training course providing 75 hours of classroom and 100 hours of clinical training. Students gain admission by completing an online application. There is no federal funding available as this is a noncredit course.
MCC also offers a refresher course for CNAs consisting of a 16-hour orientation and 100 clinical hours. Those interested in gaining admission must receive approval from the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services. Students enrolled in LVN or RN programs and who have completed a course in nursing fundamentals may challenge the CNA exam.

Manual Career and Technical Center (MCTC) provides occupational training to high school students in the 11th and 12th grades. MCTC is comprised of two campuses: East Campus High School located on Van Brunt Boulevard and the main campus located on Truman Road. Eleven programs, including the nursing assistant program, is offered at the main campus. Students completing the CNA program receive articulation credit to area community colleges and employment assistance.
High school students in the Kansas City Missouri School District should contact their high school counselor for admittance. Enrollment forms are available for download at MCTC's website or at the high school counselor's office.

Medical Education, Development and Support, Inc. (MEDS) is a technical trade school offering certified nursing assistant and certified medication technician (CMT) training. In addition to classroom training, through their Staff N' Student Mentoring Program, students are paired with an experienced CNA for 100 hours of clinical training. Students also learn technical skills by attending demonstrations and simulation labs.
Once students are certified for 6 months, they become eligible for medication technician training. CMTs are trained to give medications (non-IV) to residents in skilled nursing facilities under the supervision of licensed nurses. Training consists of 60 hours in the classroom and 8 hours clinical.
Prospective students must be at least 18 years of age, pass a basic education skills examination with an 80 percent score and receive criminal background clearance.
