The Community College of Baltimore County offers a two-year x-ray technician program that is recognized by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology. The program includes coursework in general education as well as radiography. Anne Arundel Community College offers a 70-credit program that is focused entirely on radiographic coursework. After completion of the two-year program, graduates earn an Associate of Applied Sciences degree and are eligible to take the ARRT exam to become certified as a radiologic technologist. The program is accredited by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT). Additionally, as of 2010, the program is designated as a Health Manpower Shortage Program. This means that some residents of Maryland may be eligible for in-county tuition rates.
