Bates Technical College offers two options for students interested in beginning a career as a dental technician. Students can receive a certificate of competency after completing 63 credits in related course work as well as general education requirements in human relations, communications and mathematics. Students also have the option of receiving an associate of technology degree after completing 120 credits including general education requirements and dental technician courses such as plaster carving, wax pattern construction, introduction to porcelain and orthodontic appliances. Bates Technical College's curriculum follows all the guidelines set forth by the American Dental Association and is the only fully accredited ADA dental lab technician program in the state of Washington. Enrollment begins in the fall and spring quarters of each year.

Pasadena City College prepares students for a career in dental lab technology through their two-year dental laboratory technology program. Upon completion, students receive a certificate of achievement as well as an associate in science degree with a major in dental laboratory technology and are eligible to take the written examination for national certification. Students must complete 58 credits in dental-related courses, a two-credit course in math and a three-credit speech course for a total of 63 credits. Pasadena City College features modern facilities, state-of-the-art equipment, hands-on instruction and fully certified and credentialed instructors.

McFatter Technical Center offers individuals interested in dental laboratory technology an 18-month program accredited by the American Dental Association. The program prepares students for entry-level positions in the dental field constructing full or partial dentures, fabricating crowns and bridges, applying porcelain and constructing orthodontic appliances. Students complete 2,040 hours of in-classroom instruction as well as training in the field. Applicants to the program must meet the state of Florida's minimum standards in reading, mathematics and language to gain acceptance. Graduates are eligible to take the National Board for Certification's Recognized Graduate Examination for Dental Technology and after two years of employment are eligible to take the Certified Dental Technician exam for their license.
