Ranked as one of the top graduate schools in the country, there are three colleges within the University of Minnesota that specialize in engineering: Swenson College of Science and Engineering -- Duluth; College of Science, Engineering and Technology -- Mankato and the Institute of Technology -- Twin Cities The university was founded in 1851 and currently has five campuses and numerous research and outreach centers throughout the state and also partners with countries around the globe to collaborate in the areas of research, education and business.
