Aviation Engineering Colleges

Aviation engineering, also commonly referred to as aeronautics, is the mechanical discipline devoted to the design, development and modification of aircraft. The field comprises a blend of advanced mathematics with the physics of aerodynamics, thermodynamics and jet propulsion. Several universities in the United States offer collegiate level instruction on aviation.
  1. Purdue University

    • The Purdue University College of Technology offers undergraduate, master's and doctoral level degree programs in aviation technology. The school's undergraduate concentration in Aeronautical Engineering offers both classroom and laboratory instruction of fundamental coursework grounded in aviation science, electrical systems and aircraft production processes. Inspection and repair methods are surveyed during the program's third and fourth year. Students with a strong undergraduate academic performance are eligible to enroll in the school's accelerated grad program.
