The engineering faculty at Imperial College is comprised of nine departments that include aeronautics, bioengineering, chemical engineering and chemical technology, civil and environmental engineering, computing, earth science and engineering, electrical and electronic engineering, materials and mechanical engineering. Engineering is such an integral part of the Cambridge University system that it has grown to become the largest department within the entire university.
