Less than 10 minutes from Somerset, Wisconsin, WITC-New Richmond is located in St. Croix County, a rural area of farmlands, forests and lakes. WITC-New Richmond offers Business, Medical, Trade, Criminal Justice and Education programs. Business programs encompass Accounting, Business, Marketing, Office Support Specialist, Web Analyst/Programming and Management. Medical programs include Nursing Assistant, Dietary and Medical technicians and assistants, Paramedic training, Occupational Therapy and Therapeutic Massage. Trade programs are offered in Agriculture, Equipment and Machinist Technology and Welding. They also offer Early Childhood Education, Criminal Justice and Judicial Reporting programs.
WITC-New Richmond offers Apprenticeship programs in Carpentry, Barber/Cosmetology, Mason/Bricklayer, Maintenance Mechanic/Millwright and Plumbing. Participants "earn while they learn" in an on-the-job training program, graduating as "journeymen."
WITC-New Richmond offers programs for adults who wish to return to school to improve their computer skills, train for a new career in the health care field. The Adult Basic Education program aids those who wish to improve their reading, writing or mathematics skills to meet entrance requirements for post secondary programs or to prepare for the General Education Development (GED) or the High School Equivalency Diploma (HSED) examinations
Lake Elmo/Woodbury Rasmussen is east of St. Paul and a half hour from Somerset, Wisconsin. LE/W Rasmussen offers Bachelor, Associate and Certificate degrees. Surrounded by residential developments, parks, walking trails, and outdoor recreational areas, the college is minutes from metropolitan Minneapolis-St. Paul's cultural activities.
Four-year degrees are offered in Business, Justice, Nursing and Technology. Two-year degrees are offered in Allied Health, Business, Education, Criminal Justice Homeland Security, Corrections, Psychology, Human Services, Law Enforcement, Paralegal and Technology and Design. Certificates and degrees are offered in Medical Assisting and Pharmacy, Early childhood education, and Law Enforcement and Paralegal studies.
Both Colleges offer financial aid, grants, scholarships, work-study programs, employer reimbursement and military discounts. Financial Aid is available from state, federal and private resources. Students must apply for financial aid 12 weeks before the start of the semester.
