The Illinois Institute of Technology (ITT) is a large technical institute that contains eight colleges, including psychology, law, design, business, architecture, applied technology, science and engineering. There are a number of graduate and undergraduate programs to choose from in each college. IIT also has a strong athletics program in the IIT Scarlet Hawks. IIT holds regular open houses for prospective students.

Chicago's Digital Bootcamp offers a new approach to higher learning. Rather than offering comprehensive degree or certificate programs, it offers focused and intense courses in specific technology areas. Students can study Adobe software in depth, database structure, mobile programming, SEO, web development and more. Most financial aid programs are designed to fund education at schools that provide traditional degrees or certificates. Digital Bootcamp is organized differently, but it still works with local agencies to provide financial aid and student loans.
