David Rockefeller International Experience Grants

The David Rockefeller International Experience Grants Program, established in 2009, helps Harvard students to partake in an international experience regardless of financial constraints. Students who receive the grant have the opportunity to expand their understanding of the world around them.
  1. Possible Experiences

    • Students who receive the grant can participate in any number of programs that are eligible for the grant funds. These include qualifying Harvard-run programs like Summer School study abroad programs and non-Harvard study abroad programs. Approved internships, service programs or research assistantships abroad are also considered acceptable.

    Eligibility

    • To be eligible for the grant, applicants should be currently enrolled and in good standing at Harvard; they must not have received the grant before. Eligible students are required to return to campus for at least one semester following the study abroad period. Students must also participate in the program during the summer for eight consecutive weeks with a full-time commitment.

    History

    • Since its inception in 2009, the David Rockefeller International Experience Grants Program has been a wild success. In its second year, over 400 Harvard College students acquired funding for international internships, study abroad programs, research programs and service projects. Their travel took them to 53 countries around the world.
