    • Emory University, located in the Druid Hills neighborhood just northwest of downtown Atlanta, does not offer a strict Ph.D. in International Affairs. However, students pursuing a degree through the Political Science department may specialize in international politics.     • Georgia State University, in downtown Atlanta only blocks from Georgia Tech, also offers a Ph.D. in Political Science with concentrations in international relations. Students without a master's degree are required to complete 54 hours' course work, plus a minimum of 20 hours of dissertation research. For those entering the program with a master's degree, only 36 hours of course work are required.
