Massachusetts School of Professional Psychology

• The Massachusetts School of Professional Psychology offers a doctorate program in clinical psychology in which students have the opportunity to concentrate in forensic psychology. The school places an emphasis on both academic and applied studies. According to the Massachusetts School of Professional Psychology website, students enrolled in the four-year doctorate program are expected to complete classroom coursework and field placement work. The Forensic Psychology concentration program prepares students to work within the court, prison and mental health fields. Students are required to complete a doctorate project in forensic psychology and pre-doctoral internships. The internship requires students to spend one year at a site working with juvenile or family issues and a second year working with adults. Students will develop skills necessary to assess, evaluate, test and treat populations, typically within the court system. The program is designed to meet the requirements set forth by the American Psychological Association.

• Alliant International University offers the Ph.D in Forensic Psychology program at its campus in Fresno, California. According to the Alliant International University website, the five-year doctorate program focuses on research and gaining a psychology license. Courses focus on clinical psychology, forensic science, criminology, law and the principles these fields have in common. Upon completion of the Ph.D program, students are eligible to sit for the clinical psychology licensing exam in California. Within the forensic psychology program, students can choose to complete a four-year specialty track known as the Psychology, Policy and Law (PPL) track. PPL students focus on applying psychological principles to legislative policy making.
