Students in this concentration area are required to complete their research paper by the end of their second year of study. They will take courses in work morale and motivation, a seminar in selection and recruitment, a seminar in work groups and teams, and a seminar in performance management.

    Capella University

    • Capella University offers a Ph.D. degree in organization and management with a concentration in human resource management. This specialty area is designed to prepare students to consult, lead or teach in the human resources field in a global and complex business environment. This is an online program that only requires students to attend the campus three times for their three-day colloquia experiences. Students will take courses that include ethics and social responsibility, principles of organization theory and practice, and management theory creation.

    Florida State University

    • Florida State University offers an organizational behavior and human resources program that leads students to earn a Ph.D. degree upon completion. Two or three students are typically admitted into the program each year, and these students take courses that include consumer behavior models, measurement theory, organizational theory, human resource management, philosophy of science and organizational behavior.

    • The Wisconsin School of Business at the University of Wisconsin has a management and human resources degree program that leads to a Ph.D. Students must select both a primary and secondary concentration in human resource management, organizational theory and strategy, or organizational behavior. After students have completed all of the required coursework, they must take a preliminary examination and write a dissertation as well as be prepared for the defense of the dissertation.
