Florida State University offers an organizational behavior and human resources program that leads students to earn a Ph.D. degree upon completion. Two or three students are typically admitted into the program each year, and these students take courses that include consumer behavior models, measurement theory, organizational theory, human resource management, philosophy of science and organizational behavior.

The Wisconsin School of Business at the University of Wisconsin has a management and human resources degree program that leads to a Ph.D. Students must select both a primary and secondary concentration in human resource management, organizational theory and strategy, or organizational behavior. After students have completed all of the required coursework, they must take a preliminary examination and write a dissertation as well as be prepared for the defense of the dissertation.
