The Centro de Investigación de Enfermedades Tropicales (CIET) is a registered non-profit organization based in New York, New York. The name means "Tropical Disease Research Center" in English and is derived from CIET's research center in Acapulco. CIET offers both a master's and doctoral degrees in public health, with an emphasis on community service. CIET's mission is to educate professionals in the public health sphere who graduate with extensive field experience and a commitment to giving back to developing nations.
Acapulco is located in the Mexican state of Guerrero, and the Universidad Autónoma de Guerrero is the local university for that state. Since then, the school has grown consistently and now offers a variety of degrees to complement the programs offered at the area's larger university, the Universidad Autónoma. The school currently offers doctorates in law and administration, both of which have highly defined and well-structured curricula of study.
