Walden University offers an online Ph.D. in management with a specialization in accounting. The accounting specialization uses a self-directed format that consists of independent study and research guided by a faculty mentor. Students must complete knowledge area modules (KAMs), which are a series of scholarly papers. Students are also required to complete 20 days of residency, which consists of face-to-face meetings with faculty. During these residencies, students receive academic advising as well as participate in milestone seminars. The time frame for completion of the Ph.D. program varies.
