Nuclear Medicine Technician Grants

Nuclear medicine technicians use diagnostic technology to take images of patients' bodies. Doctors use these images to diagnosis diseases and conditions. Grants are available for students at all levels of their education. Granting organizations include colleges and universities, hospitals and health services organizations.
  1. Glencoe Regional Health Services (GRHS)

    • Glencoe Regional Health Services offers the Carl Sanken scholarships. The scholarships, funded by a donation willed by Mr. Carl Sanken, provide money for students with career aspirations in medicine and related fields. Acceptable career goals for the scholarship include dentist, paramedic, physical therapist, ultrasound technologist, licensed practical nurse and nuclear medicine technician. To be eligible for the scholarship, students must live in, or attend or have graduated from high school in, one of the cities in the GRHS service area. Completed applications include the applicant's most recent transcript, two letters of recommendation and a complete application form. Award amounts are unspecified and decided by the scholarship committee. Successful applicants must renew the scholarship each year.

    Bucks County Community College

    • Bucks County Community College and the Saint Andrew Foundation offer the Saint Andrew Foundation scholarship. The scholarship supports high school seniors and returning adults. Selected applicants must attend a two-year program of study in an approved health science field. Approved programs include those lead to the following careers: laboratory technician, phlebotomist, echocardiography technician, diagnostic medical sonography technician and nuclear medicine technician. Successful applicants will be legally authorized to work in the U.S. and must submit a completed application form, any applicable transcripts, letters of recommendation, an essay and proof of acceptance/enrollment to an accredited, approved program. Scholarships are in the amount of $1,000 and students can use them to pay for tuition and/or education-related fees, insurance, room and board, computer technology and textbook costs. Scholarships last for one year, but students in good standing may apply for renewal in the next year.

    Baptist St. Anthony's Health System (BSA)

    • Baptist St. Anthony's Health System's Spirit Award program supports part-time and full-time St. Anthony's employees in pursuing further education. Annual scholarship amounts depend on the funding available and the student's particular academic plan. Eligible applicants include BSA employees of at least three months with a director's recommendation. Employee applicants must work at least one shift each pay period, must maintain at least a 2.75 grade point average (GPA) and must renew the scholarship each semester, subject to their director's approval. After graduation, scholarship recipients must work for BSA as full-time employees for a period depending on the amount of BSA's contribution to the student's education or must repay that contribution. During the educational period, the student must pay all costs not met by the scholarship award. Total funding, including any sign-on bonuses, may not exceed $7,500.
