The Washington State Scholarship Foundation provides awards of $5,000 per year for students attending four-year institutions and $2,500 for students attending two-year institutions. The scholarships are good for any accredited post-secondary program, including colleges, universities, community colleges, vocational schools and trade schools. The scholarship is for first-time freshmen with a proven financial need who have a high-school diploma or a GED issued by the state of Washington.

The Wendy Jackson Hall Memorial Scholarship was established to help students studying the visual arts. Eligible students must be seniors about to graduate from public high schools in Washington who have shown talent in visual arts. Students must also have an established record of academic excellence, maintaining at least a 3.0 grade point average. In addition to being accepted into a four-year art program at an accredited institution, students wishing to receive the Wendy Jackson Hall Memorial Scholarship must also demonstrate financial need.

The Pride Foundation and Greater Seattle Business Association Scholarships is an umbrella organization that provides more than 40 scholarships to gay, lesbian and transgender students in Washington as well as their allies (straight supporters of the gay community). The organization awards $250,000 every year. Twenty-five students in their sophomore and junior years of high school receive as much as half of their tuition needs at a college of their choice.

The State Need Grant is designed to help the poorest students in Washington get an education. The grant may be applied to any accredited post-secondary institution in Washington. Both full- and part-time students are eligible for the grant, with a minimum of three credits needed to qualify. Students pursuing a theological education are not eligible. The size of the grant varies based on student need and the type of institution attended. The program provides the largest grants to students at public research universities and the smallest grants for private career colleges. Students may also be eligible for a dependent care allowance.
