The German Academic Exchange Service, (or Deutscher Akademischer Austausch Dienst (DAAD), in German) offers Study Scholarships for U.S. and Canadian students who are studying music, as well as other artistic fields. The scholarship is open to graduating seniors and graduate students. Students stay in Germany for one academic year (10 months) at a German university. Although the exact amount of the award is not given, the program gives a monthly stipend of 750 euros for artists and musicians. Students should be able to speak German well. Applications are completed and submitted on-line at the program's website.

MENC (Music Educators National Conference) was the name given to the National Association for Music Education, prior to its 1998 name change. The organization gives scholarships to graduate students 25 and younger who submit a paper about the importance of copyright law and intellectual property. The scholarship is also open to high school and college students. The first, second and third place prizes are $10,000, $3,000 and $2,000, respectively.
