Rowan University's Graduate School offers one doctoral degree. The Ed.D. in educational leadership caters to educators, with a degree track for K-12 teachers plus a degree track for those in higher education. Successfully complete your degree in three years, or you can take coursework at a pace of your own design.
Rowan University offers 41 master's degrees, including the master of arts, the master of science, the master of science in teaching, the master of science in engineering and the master of business administration. Degree programs are: M.A. in applied behavior analysis, master of business administration (M.B.A.): general, master of business administration (M.B.A.) in accounting, finance, marketing, management or management information systems, M.A. in clinical mental health counseling, M.S. in computer science, M.A. in counseling in educational settings, M.A. in criminal justice, master of science in engineering (M.S.E.) in chemical engineering, civil engineering, electrical and computer engineering, environmental engineering, mechanical engineering or engineering management, master of engineering management, M.A. in higher education (administrative or instructional), M.A. in learning disabilities, M.A. in mathematics, master of music (with specializations in composition, guitar, jazz studies, keyboard, orchestral instruments, voice and orchestral or vocal or wind conducting), M.A. in public relations, M.A. in reading education, M.A. in school administration: principal preparation, M.A. in school psychology, M.A. in special education, master of education (M.Ed.) in teacher Leadership, master of science in teaching (M.S.T.): elementary education, master of science in teaching (M.S.T.): subject matter education (with specializations in nine different subjects), master of science in teaching (M.S.T.): K-12 theatre education and an M.A. in writing.
Rowan also offers graduate study toward an Ed.S. in educational services with a specialization in school psychology. In addition to required coursework, you must complete a lengthy school-based practicum and internship.
In addition to degree programs, at Rowan's graduate school, you can pursue certifications, certificates and endorsements in a variety of fields. The Graduate School advertises a learning disabilities teacher consultant (LDTC) certification, a graduate endorsement: teacher of students with disabilities, supervisor certification, a certificate of advanced graduate study in mental health counseling, a certificate of advanced graduate study in principal preparation and certificate programs in applied behavior analysis, autism spectrum disorders, business, educational technology, global history, history, Integrated marketing communication & new media, management information systems, middle school mathematics education, middle school science education, networks, reading, reading/writing literacy, school public relations, secondary mathematics, software engineering, special education, teaching and learning, web development and writing, composition and rhetoric.
At Rowan you also can pursue post-baccalaureate study in seven areas. The post-baccalaureate programs are: cartography, health and physical education, post-baccalaureate school nursing certification, subject matter art or music, teacher of reading, teacher of students with disabilities and teacher of student with disabilities post-baccalaureate endorsement.
When you pursue your undergraduate degree at Rowan, you can take advantage of the 4 +1 Dual Degree program, in which you complete your undergraduate studies on a traditional four-year schedule while you take graduate courses during the senior year, which enables you to complete a master's degree in one year. Rowan offers the 4 +1 Dual Degree program in computer science, mathematics and writing.
