Salt Lake Community College offers a public notary training workshop that is offered every three weeks in the morning and in the afternoon throughout the year. The workshop lasts for three and a half hours of training and is limited to 25 students per workshop. Students who complete this program are prepared to take the required online examination to become a public notary.

California State University, East Bay, has a notary public training course that teaches students the necessities of becoming a notary all within an intensive seminar that lasts for one day. Students must be at least 18 years of age to enroll in this program and will learn about the new legislation, how to keep journals, completing certificates and taking the official exam every four years.

Pace University has a public notary course that prepares students for the New York State examination to become a notary public. Students in this program will learn how to avoid conflicts of interest, charge proper fees, maintain their professional ethics and minimize their legal liability. Students will complete the course in one day over six hours of instruction. Students also have the option of pursuing the course in an online format at their own pace.

Anne Arundel Community College has a public notary course that teaches students more about the responsibility behind becoming a public notary. Students who take this course will learn the legal implications behind notarial acts and these students will explore the functions, procedures, legal and moral responsibilities and prohibited practices of being a public notary.

Johnston Community College offers a public notary course for students who have at least a high school diploma or GED. Students in this program must purchase the required books from the college bookstore prior to their class date. The class lasts for six hours and students have the option of enrolling in a class that takes place over two days or they can choose to complete the course in one day. At least eight students must be enrolled into the program, but no more than 28 students will be accepted.
