The dental hygiene program offered by Clark College in Vancouver, Washington, is accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation. The program requires seven quarters of full-time study and focuses on both classroom education and clinical experiences under the supervision of both licensed dentists and dental hygienists. The Department of dental hygiene at Eastern Washington University provides students with the only entry-level option to earn a Bachelor of Science degree in the field of dental hygiene in the state of Washington. In addition, the school offers a Master of Science degree for students interested in continuing their education. Students receive training in the fields of head and neck anatomy, dental anatomy, radiography, pharmacology, preventative dentistry, pain control, oral and general pathology, research methods, community dental health and ethics in dentistry. Students also complete clinical practice experiences before graduation. As of the 2010 academic year, tuition costs are $156.70 per credit hour at the undergraduate level and $226.50 per credit hour for graduate students. Financial aid is available.
