Metropolitan Community College has seven academic divisions: Arts, Business, Computing/Electronics, Culinary/Hospitality/Horticulture, Health, Industrial/Technical and Public Service. At its Fort Omaha and South Omaha campuses, MCC offers a wide array of programs that include Electronic Imaging & Media Arts, Not-for-Profit Management, Organic Gardening, Oracle Database Systems, EMT Paramedic, Diesel Technology and Fire Service Technology.
As of January 2011, the tuition at MCC is $48 and $71 per credit hour for Nebraska and non-Nebraska residents, respectively. For students who are 62 years of age or older, the per credit hour rate is reduced to $24 and $35.75.
As of January 2011, Vatterott Educational Center Inc. has 20 campuses throughout the midwestern and southwestern United States under its Vatterott College brand. The maximum class size at each Vatterott campus is 30 students and the enrollment capacity is 1,200 per session.
The institution's Spring Valley Campus in Omaha offers five diploma programs in computer technology, cosmetology, dental assisting, HVAC (heating,ventilating and air conditioning) technology, and personal fitness training. Vatterott College Omaha also has eight associate degree programs, which include subject areas such as business management, medical assisting, alcohol-drug abuse counseling, and pharmacy and veterinarian technology.
Clarkson College is unique among Omaha community colleges in that it offers bachelor's degree programs in addition to the certificate and associate degree tracks. It even has a master's degree in Health Care Administration. Clarkson's programs are split into the following areas: health care business, nursing, physical therapist assistant, radiologic technology, medical imaging and imaging informatics.
Generally, undergraduate courses at Clarkson, as of January 2011, cost $420 per credit hour. Graduate courses have an increased rate of $468. The tuition fees vary slightly, however, with certain programs. For instance, a student pursuing her bachelor's degree in business pays $193 per credit hour, which is lower than the general undergraduate rate. On the other side of the spectrum, students enrolled in the Nurse Anesthesia program pay $630 per credit hour: a higher bill than the general graduate fees.
About an hour's drive from Omaha is Southeast Community College, which has a campus in the state capital of Lincoln. As of January 2011, SCC offers more than 20 certificate and associate degrees. They include subject areas such as welding, computer-aided design and drafting, food service, polysomnographic technology, professional truck driver training and respiratory care. With a grand total of three campuses and four satellite locations in the state, SCC enrolls more than 9,000 students as of January 2011.
