Hebrew College offers an online Master of Jewish Liberal Studies degree, comprised of 30 credits including studies of classical Jewish texts, Rabbinics, medieval and modern Jewish civilization, and a focus on Jewish culture (thought, music, art, literature). To be considered for admission, students must have a bachelor's degree from a four-year university, complete an essay and present two letters of recommendation. Course titles include Genres and Themes of Biblical Literature, Jewish History and Memory: Rabbinic and Medieval Periods and Core Issues in Jewish Philosophy: Traditional Approaches and Modern Responses.

Gratz College offers an online component to its brick-and-mortar school, allowing students to study at home for Jewish Studies bachelor's and master's degrees, including programs in Jewish early childhood education, Jewish music and Jewish non-profit management. Certificate programs also are available, including the certificate in Holocaust studies, an 18-credit program including courses such as Resistance During the Holocaust, Modern German Jewish History, The Problem of Evil in Jewish Thought and Post-Holocaust Judaism. Students can elect to take courses full time or just one or two at a time.

The Hebrew Union College Jewish Institute of Religion offers a Sephardic Studies program that may be completed online. Students will complete courses such as Sephardi Religious Responses to Modernity, Cultures of the Jews, Severus' Epistle on the Jews, The Torah Anthology and The Sephardi Legacy. Distance-learning students may take advantage of the school's resources such as libraries, music, faculty and tutoring or mentoring.
