Online LVN to RN & BSN Schools

Practicing licensed vocational nurses (LVNs) can continue their educations online while working full-time. For licensed vocational nurses looking for a bachelor's degree to enhance their careers -- often by moving up to a RN, or registered nurse, position, after taking the appropriate licensing exam -- there are various schools available online.
  1. Indiana State University

    • Indiana State University has a partnership with Ivy Tech Community College-Wabash Valley to offer licensed practical nurses a bachelor of science degree in nursing -- via distance learning. The program allows the LPN to transfer all applicable credit to Indiana State University. The university also offers an RN-BSN program. The track offers registered nurses an alternative curriculum. They must complete 35 credit hours in the nursing major and complete the university's general education program. This program is also offered via distance learning.

    • University of Phoenix offers an LPN/LVN-to-BSN program that assists licensed practical and vocational nurses with advanced clinical and critical thinking skills. Students can practice these skills either in simulation labs or in real-world scenarios. They will then be eligible to apply to take the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses (NCLEX-RN exam).
