This program has been accredited by the Indiana State Board of Nursing as well as the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC). Students are taught through three phases. The first phase of training consists of foundational studies. The second phase features nursing prerequisite courses and the third phase has baccalaureate-level nursing courses. While clinical experience is required to graduate from this program, Indiana State University connects students with a medical facility in their area to complete this requirement. After graduation, students are qualified to take the NCLEX-RN examination to become a licensed registered nurse. The California State University at Chico School of Nursing offers an LVN-to-BSN online program. This 120-unit degree program teaches students foundational and advanced nursing techniques to prepare them for work as a registered nurse. According to the university, this program takes three years to complete and requires students to live in the state of California. While all classes are taught online, on-campus meetings are required at least once per semester. After coursework has been completed, the university enrolls students in local medical facilities to complete the clinical practicum. To apply, students must have taken the following courses: physiology, anatomy, organic chemistry and microbiology. Applicants must hold a GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale and hold a valid California LVN/LPN license. As of 2010, the three-year tuition for the online LVN-to-BSN program is $17,150; however, the exact price can vary from year to year. Upon completing this program, students are eligible to take the NCLEX-RN examination.

Western Governors University offers a bachelor's of science in nursing prelicensure for students in California and Texas wishing to become a Registered Nurse (RN). As of 2010, this online BSN prelicensure degree program is only offered in the aforementioned states; however, according to a statement by Western Governors University this program is expected to expand into different states. This program consists of coursework in nutrition, clinical microbiology, nursing informatics, chronic care, critical care nursing and a clinical practicum. Students complete coursework online and are enrolled in a local medical facility to complete clinical courses. To apply, students must hold a valid CPR certification, have an associate's or bachelor's degree and have taken all course prerequisites. Applicants without an associate's or bachelor's degree must complete the required coursework prior to submitting an application. After graduating from this degree program, students will possess the knowledge to take the NCLEX-RN examination. As of 2010, this BSN prelicensure degree is $17,000 ($4,250 per six month term; four terms).
