Unlike other LVN to RN transition programs, Indiana State University offers a bachelor's degree in nursing, as opposed to an associate degree. The BS in nursing program at Western Governors University enables LVNs to gain eligibility to take the NCLEX-RN for their RN license. The program is another one of the few LVN to RN programs that offers a bachelor's degree for graduating students. To gain admission to the program, candidates must have earned a bachelor's or associate degree, possess a current CPR certification at the Healthcare Provider Level, submit at least one letter of recommendation from their current health care employer and submit proof of completion of prerequisite courses.
