Accredited Online Nursing Schools

Registered nurses might have a bachelor's degree, an associate's degree or a diploma from an approved nursing program. Registered nurses with a master's degree have the opportunity for career advancement as clinical nurse specialists, nurse anesthetists, nurse-midwives and nurse practitioners.       South University-Savannah was accredited in 1985 by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools. South University offers registered nurses a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree. A student may keep her job as a registered nurse (RN) and take online classes in the BSN completion program. An RN can earn a BSN in 12 months.

      A full-time student may take accelerated 5 1/2-week courses, which allows her to complete up to 16 course per year. Students study advance nursing skills including palliative care, gerontological nursing, and complementary and alternative nursing. Tuition for the BSN program is $308 per credit hour as of May 2010.

      South University also offers a Master of Science in Nursing degree program online. The MSN degree program is accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE). The Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) degree program is part of the School of Health Professions. A student in the MSN program may elect to focus on the Nurse Educator Specialization program. Tuition for the MSN program is $373 per credit hour as of May 2010. Financial aid is available in the form of loans, grants, scholarships, veteran and military benefits and vocational rehabilitation programs are available for qualifying students.

    Everest College

    • Earn a two-year associate's degree in nursing at your own pace, schedule and terms.

      Everest College was accredited in 1997 by the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools, the Higher Learning Commission. Everest College has campuses in Phoenix and Mesa, Arizona. Everest College also offers online degree programs. Everest College offers an associate's degree in nursing online. An associate's degree will take two years to complete. However, students in Everest College's online distance learning programs set their own schedules and work at their own pace.

      Students in the associate's degree program will take courses in anatomy and physiology, fundamentals of nursing, nutrition, nursing pharmacology, microbiology, developmental psychology, mental health nursing, therapeutic communications.

      Financial aid in the form of loans and scholarships is available to qualifying students. Graduates of the associate's degree program in nursing are eligible to take the NCLEX-RN exam. After passing the NCLEX-RN exam, graduates become registered nurses.

Students must be registered nurses in the United States and Canada.
