With both graduate and undergraduate tracks, the arts administration program at Indiana University attracts both students right out of high school and others looking to enhance their careers. For undergraduate students, the program offers a bachelor of arts degree or a certificate in arts administration, perfect for arts majors who want a better of understanding of the field without getting a full degree. The graduate program takes as little as one and half years to complete and includes a mandatory internship that can be completed either during the summer or in the spring following a student's third semester of coursework. The program also features minor degree and doctoral minor degree options.

The University of Kentucky's arts administration program allows students to specialize their studies in one of five arts fields: art history, art studio, theater, music history and music performance. This specialization takes up one third of the curriculum, while the rest of the course load includes business-related classes with an emphasis in nonprofit management. The program only offers bachelor's degrees and prepares students for immediate work or graduate studies in areas such as business and law as they relate to the arts. The school also recommends that students use some of their elective course slots in other arts-related field such as dance and architecture.
