Art & Dance Schools

Art and dance schools offer students a chance to hone their technical skills and creative abilities in the fine arts. Programs may be offered in a variety of dance, art, music and theater. The best art and dance schools are often college and high school programs for students who have already expressed an interest and talent for the fine arts.
  1. Julliard

    • Julliard is probably the most prestigious and well known fine art program in the United States. Located in New York City, New York, Julliard offers programs in dance, drama, music and the liberal arts. Founded in 1905, Julliard has a pre-college, college, outreach, summer and evening program and it seeks to improve the artistic, intellectual and personal growth of its students. Admission requirements include both a written application and an audition.

    California College of the Arts

    • Founded in 1907, the California College of the Arts has two campuses in San Fransisco and Oakland, California. The California College of the arts offers both undergraduate and graduate programs in a variety of programs of study including architecture, the arts and the fine arts. Students are required to submit an application for admission and some programs require a portfolio presentation as well.

    Ohio State University College of the Arts

    • The College of the Arts is a division of the Ohio State University located in Columbus, Ohio. Its programs of study include Art, Dance, Art History, Art Education, Music, Theater and Design in undergraduate and graduate degree programs. Study abroad programs are also available for students. Students looking to enroll must first complete the admissions process for Ohio State University and contact the undergraduate advisers at the College of the Arts for information on further admission requirements.

    Boston University College of Fine Art

    • The College of Fine Art at Boston University in Boston, Massachusetts is divided into its School of Music, School of Visual Arts and School of Theatre. Each school oversees a variety of degree programs both on the undergraduate and graduate level. The application and admission process varies by school and major.

    NYU Tisch

    • Tisch is New York University's school of the arts. It is located in New York, New York. Tisch is divided into the School of Performing Arts, Maurice Kanbar Institute of Film and Television, Skirball Center for New Media, and the Clive Davis Department of Recorded Music. Each school covers a wide variety of majors and has different requirements for applying and admissions. Overall applying to Tisch requires the submission of an application, review and audition or portfolio presentation for acceptance.
