MassArt is located in the capital city of Boston, Massachusetts and offers degrees in fine arts, design, art education, art history, dynamic media, architecture and art education. The California Institute of the Arts or CalArts is located 30 minutes north of Los Angeles in Valencia, California and is known as a leading center of undergraduate and graduate study in the performing and visual arts. CalArts is made up of six schools: Art, Critical Studies, Dance, Film/Video, Music and Theater. Admission to CalArts is based on demonstrated talent, creativity and commitment, as well as prior education records, recommendations and artist's statement.
