Washington University's Sam Fox School of Design and Visual Arts is dedicated to teaching art, architecture and design. The school offers a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree program that includes courses in communication design, fashion design, painting and sculpture. Students can also earn an M.F.A. in Visual Arts by accumulating 60 credits, 18 of which must be in art history. Summer and study aboard programs are also available, including ones in Berlin, Barcelona and India.

Students can also choose to work toward a minor in art history, the performing arts or graphic design. The Fine Arts Building at Fontbonne features studios, an art gallery and a theater. Fontbonne also offers master's degrees in art and fine art.
Maryville University College of Arts and Sciences offers courses in art history, graphic design, studio art and interior design, leading to a Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Fine Arts degree. Minors in art and art history as also available. The school is an accredited member of the Foundation for Interior Design Education Research and the National Association of Schools of Art and Design.
The College of Arts and Sciences on St. Louis University's main campus offers art history and studio art degree programs in ceramics, painting, printmaking and computer art. A studio art degree prepares students to work in art galleries and museums, and as consultants, designers and professional artists. The school's art history program focuses on critical analysis and Greek Revival, Medieval and Renaissance art. The St. Louis University Museum of Art includes numerous galleries, a sculpture garden and the Museum of Contemporary Religious Art.
