The University of the Arts campus is a private art university located in Center City on a six-block span of the Avenue of the Arts. The university offers 46 academic programs including 26 bachelor's degree programs and 12 master's degree programs, six certificate/diploma programs and 27 minors in design, visual arts, performance and film. The College of Art and Design and the College of Performing Arts offer both undergraduate and graduate degrees. The campus has seven performance venues, 13 galleries and 10 buildings. In 2010, the university had a total of 2,400 students, and a student to faculty ratio of 10-to-1.
The Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts is a museum and private university located in Center City. The school offers a 120-credit certificate program in fine arts, a bachelor of fine arts degree and a master of fine arts degree in studio art. The bachelor of fine arts program is a 126 credit program including 84 credits in studio arts and 42 credits in liberal arts. Studies in art history and criticism, language and literature, history, culture and social science and science and quantitative thinking are included in the bachelor of fine arts program. The campus is spread out over several historical landmark buildings with state-of-the art classroom facilities.
The Hussian School of Art is located at Independence Mall East on Market Street in the heart of Center City. The school is a four-year visual arts school that offers an associate in specialized technology degree in graphic arts. Two major degree programs are offered in advertising design and illustration. A diversity of courses includes drawing, color and design, computer design, fantasy art and printmaking. Campus enrollment in 2010 was 108. The school offers state-of-the-art classrooms, design studios and fine-arts studio space.
The Moore College of Art and Design is the first and only women's art college in the country, located on The Parkway in Center City. The school offers undergraduate majors in art education, art history, curatorial studies, fashion design, 2D or 3D fine arts, graphic design, illustration, interior design, and photography and digital arts. Graduate programs are available in art education, interior design and studio arts. The campus is located in the cultural area of the Museum District. In 2010, the school had 527 undergraduate students and 55 post-baccalaureate and graduate students, and a student to faculty ratio of 8.5-to-1.
