Undergraduates need to fill out an application, either online or in hard copy, and submit a $30 application fee, academic transcripts, SAT I or ACT scores, an essay and recommendations. For the school to consider your application, you need to be in your senior year of high school. You will need to supply transcripts for at least the first three years, plus the first grading period in your fourth year. If you didn't attend a traditional high school, you can submit official GED scores.
Elms College requires two letters of recommendation -- one from a teacher and another from a guidance counselor. This gives the college insight into your personality. You can also schedule a meeting with an admissions counselor, but this step is optional.
International students must submit a full-time undergraduate application, $30 application fee, transcripts from secondary schools and colleges, letter of recommendation, Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) scores, a form documenting financial support and a bank reference.
Since grading is different in each country, your transcripts must be notarized, certified and have an explanation of the grading system. If the transcripts come from a country that doesn't primarily speak English, you'll need to include a copy of your grades in English.
International students must be able to prove they can afford to attend Elms College. The school provides a Documentation of Financial Support form for you and your family or sponsor family to complete and return to the school. You will need a bank reference signed and certified by a bank official, in addition to the form, that proves you have the funds available. Your reference needs to be in U.S. currency.
Elms College welcomes students transferring from other institutions. You will need to send an application for full-time undergraduate admission, an essay, a $30 application fee, official transcripts or GED results, an academic letter of recommendation and all college transcripts. If you attended more than one university, you must send Elms College transcripts from them all.
When submitting your application, you'll need to schedule an interview to complete the process, unless you're applying to the nursing program. Nursing program applicants may want to attend an information session, but it's not required.
Students who have completed an undergraduate degree should contact Elms College's Division of Graduate Studies and Continuing Education to apply for a graduate program. Then you'll need to print and mail an application, with a non-refundable $30 application fee, to Division of Graduate Studies and Continuing Education, Elms College, 291 Springfield St., Chicopee, MA 01013. Your application packet should include a resume, a one-page personal goal statement, undergraduate transcripts and two letters of recommendation.
If you're applying to Elms College's Master of Science in Nursing program, the university requires a copy of your current nursing license. Teachers interested in the college's Master of Arts in Teaching program must submit Massachusetts Tests for Educator Licensure test scores or copy of a current teaching license.
