Grove City College Admission Requirements

Grove City College is a Christian college dedicated to providing its students with a high-quality academic education. Grove City College is located in Grove City, Pennsylvania, and has a population of approximately 2,500 students. High school seniors wishing to enroll in Grove City College must complete their admission packets and turn in all required information to the college by the postmark deadline of Feb. 1. The Feb. 1 deadline is for Regular Decision applicants; however, students wishing to participate in the Early Decision program should submit all of their materials by Nov. 15.
  1. Application

    • An online application for admission to Grove City College may be completed on the college's website (https://my.gcc.edu/gcc_misc/admissionsapp.aspx). Prospective students should complete the application and return it with the $50 application fee. The application includes two essay questions that students must complete. The first essay question asks, "What experiences and/or relationships have helped to develop your moral values?" For the second essay question, students should read the college's mission statement and then describe why, based on the mission statement, they wish to attend Grove City College.

    SAT or ACT Scores

    • Prospective students should complete either the SAT or the ACT before applying to Grove City College.

      Students wishing to enroll in Grove City College must send their official SAT or ACT scores to the school. There are no minimum score requirements for the college; however, the average ACT score for entering freshmen is 28, and the average SAT score is 1250.

    Official High School Transcript

    • An official high school transcript must be sent to the college as part of the admissions process. Contact your high school counselor to arrange for your transcript to be processed and sent to Grove City College. The average unweighted grade point average for entering freshman is 3.71.

    Letters of Recommendation and On-Campus Interview

    • Prospective students should submit two letters of recommendation to Grove City College. One letter of recommendation may come from a teacher or adviser. The second letter should come from a spiritual leader (such as a pastor or youth leader). The second letter of reference is the student's character reference, while the first letter is the academic letter of reference. In addition to the letters of recommendation, serious applicants should also schedule an on-campus interview to meet with an admissions officer. The interview will allow the student to detail his or her strengths and why he or she would be a good Grove City College student.
