Prospective freshmen must complete the official Emerson college application and supplemental form as well as pay an application fee. A high school transcript must also be submitted with a secondary school report that needs to be completed by an administrator or non-teaching professional at the attending high school. The transcript must also be signed by a school official. A teacher evaluation and test results from either the SAT or ACT are also required.
Undergraduates wishing to transfer from a community college or other four-year college or university must also submit the Emerson College application, application supplement and application fee as well as a high school transcript with SAT or ACT scores. Test scores are not required if the student has completed an associate's degree, graduated from high school more than three years ago or is at the junior credit level at the current institution. Transfer students must also submit a college transcript, mid-semester grade report if applicable and college instructor letter of recommendation or evaluation.
Graduate study candidates must submit all college and higher learning transcripts along with three letters of recommendation and a professional resume. Students must also take either the GRE or GMAT tests and submit those scores for consideration. Depending on the intended program of study, other items may be required. However, all prospective students should also submit an essay to the specific program of intention that explains why the student would like to study that particular subject.
Emerson College also offers courses in certain professional topic areas such as playwriting, portfolio design, grammar and courses on the construction of graphic novels. To register for these courses, students must have a GED or high school diploma and any prerequisite knowledge that the courses that are graduate level courses may require. Students may register by contacting the admission office by phone, email, faxing or in person. Payment is then required through a secure online process.
