Freshman candidates must submit their grade point averages (GPAs) and SAT scores. According to a recent Queens College freshman admission profile, the mean GPA is 87 and the mean SAT score is 1130. Applicants must submit an application online, along with their high school transcripts, GED diploma or high school's OSIS number if they attended school in New York City. Home-schooled students must provide a valid high school diploma. Depending on your program of interest, you may also be required to get letters of recommendation and write an essay. Also include the document return receipt found in the application summary packet if you need to send in original supporting documents, as well as the application fee of $65.
Transfer students should have a GPA of at least 2.7 or better in order to apply for transfer to Queens College. Applicants should submit an online application. If you are transferring from another CUNY school, your current transcript will be pulled once your application is received. Send official transcripts from all colleges you have attended to the Queens College Admissions Office. Include a document return receipt from the applications packet if you are asked for supporting materials, such as essays or letters of recommendation. Be sure to pay the application fee of $70.
Military veterans should complete the online application before the semester priority deadline for which they would like to attend. Official transcripts from all colleges attended should be sent to the Queens College Admission Office. There are a variety of financial aid benefit programs for veterans. You can enroll in the Post-9/11 G.I. Bill or the MGIB online. Veterans can also apply for NYS TAP, a NYS Veterans Tuition Award, a NY National Guard Tuition Benefit and veteran work-study. Send a copy of the DD-214 or DD-2384 forms (issued by your military unit) to the college's certifying official and the Office of Veterans Affairs.
