Brewton-Parker College in Newnan is a subsidiary of the main campus of Brewton-Parker in Mount Vernon, Georgia. A Christian school offering four-year baccalaureate degrees and connected with the Georgia Baptist Convention, the college offers extracurricular activities such as student organizations, intramural sports, campus ministries and other weekend and social activities. The University of West Georgia is a 645-acre campus just 45 miles from Atlanta. It offers graduate and undergraduate degrees and has 100 student organizations. Clayton College, located 15 minutes from the middle of Atlanta, lies approximately 40 minutes from Newnan. It currently offers 30 baccalaureate degree programs and six master's degrees. "U.S. News and World Report" recognized it as having the most diverse student population among the colleges and universities in the southern United States. Clayton College underwent tremendous expansion in the years prior to 2010, with the addition of facilities such as a new school of business, a student housing structure, the state's first gigaplex residence hall and a student activities center featuring a complete fitness center and ballroom.
