For 125 years, the New Jersey Institute of Technology has offered courses in science and practical topics of study. There are over 90 undergraduate and graduate degree programs available, including Applied Statistics, Architecture, Biocomplexity, Bioinformatics, Computer Technology, Concrete Industry Management, Electrical Engineering, Fine Arts, Management Information Systems, Technological Entrepreneurship, Telecommunications Management and Mechanical Engineering, to name a few. The school is accredited by several boards and commissions, including Middle States, ABET and NAAB. The institute accepts students from around the world and awards more engineering degrees to African-American and Hispanic students than any other college in New Jersey. Lincoln Technical Institute in South Plainfield offers degree programs in business, automotive, health sciences, information technology, culinary arts, skilled trades and cosmetology. Students who attend Lincoln Technical can also take courses in other cities in New Jersey, depending on degree programs, including Mahwah, Edison, Mount Laurel, Paramus and Union. Financial aid counselors are on hand to help students put together a financial support plan from state or federal grants and loans.

Also located in South Jersey, Camden County Technical Schools offers technical degrees, with programs on several campuses. The adult programs typically last nine months, from September to May. Prospective students can apply to individual schools within the overall system, including the School of Health and Medical Services, the School of Business and Commerce, the School of Engineering and Technology, the School of Hospitality and the School of Personal and Professional Services. Camden County Technical Schools takes pride in their apprenticeship programs intended to help graduates find jobs through hands-on experience. The apprentice programs are designed to complement specific fields, namely carpentry, machine shop, electrician, medical secretary, legal secretary, metallurgy, paralegal and plumbing.
