The Bergen County Technical Schools offer courses in adult and continuing education in various disciplines, including carpentry, collision repair, computer training for the PC, electrical technology, firemen, adult day career programs, GED/ESL, health care, home inspection, HVAC/energy technology, plumbing, technical computer training and welding. The school also runs a technical school program for high school students to earn credit for college. Students who wish to apply to one of the Bergen Academies should research fields they wish to study. Camden County Technical Schools offers degrees from schools within its overall system. The adult programs usually run nine months, typically from September to May. Students may apply to individual schools within Camden County Technical Schools, including the School of Health and Medical Services, the School of Business and Commerce, the School of Engineering and Technology, the School of Hospitality and the School of Personal and Professional Services. Camden County Technical Schools also provides training through apprentice programs intended to help students learn practical on-the-job skills. There are apprentice programs in a variety of fields, including carpentry, electrician, legal secretary, machine shop, medical secretary, metallurgy, paralegal and plumbing.

Lincoln Technical Institute is in Edison and offers degrees in areas that include automotive, business, health sciences, information technology, skilled trades, culinary arts and cosmetology. Although the main campus is in Edison, students may also take courses in other cities in New Jersey, depending on which degree programs are offered. The cities include Mahwah, Mount Laurel, Paramus, South Plainfield and Union. At the Lincoln Technical Institute, financial aid counselors can help students put together a plan that consists of state and federal grants and loans to help pay for their education.
