The best business schools in the nation are those that offer many different degree programs, including joint-degree programs. If considering attending a business college in California, look for one that has an established reputation for producing graduates who are hired by top companies, government agencies or corporations. Bear in mind also that the best business colleges are nationally accredited. California is home to several of these top business colleges.

    • One of the best business colleges in the United States is the Stanford Graduate School of Business. Stanford University is itself one of the world's preeminent research institutions. Much of this reputation stems from its interdisciplinary approach to education. This approach also affects the emphases of the business school. Stanford's business school ranked No. 2 among business schools nationwide in 2009, according to "U.S. News & World Report." Stanford's degree programs include the traditional MBA, a master of science in management, and a Ph.D. Programs are also offered in continuing education for executives who wish to enhance their credentials. Joint degrees offered along with the MBA are a master of science in environmental resources, a master of arts in education, a master of public policy, the JD (Juris Doctor), a master of science in bioengineering and the MD (Doctor of Medicine).     • The University of California at Berkeley (UCB) is the seventh highest rated program on the "U.S. News & World Report" list of top business colleges. UCB offers a variety of options for MBA students: an executive MBA, a traditional full-time program and evening and night classes. The school also offers a master's degree in financial engineering and a Ph.D. Undergraduate students pursue a two-year bachelor of science degree. The MBA program at UCB is taught as a general management program. Students wanting to pursue areas of specialization have the opportunity to do so through certificate programs in several fields: technology, global management, real estate, entrepreneurship and health management.     • The University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA) is home to the third highest rated college of business in the state of California. UCLA's Anderson School of Management ranked 14th on the "U.S. News" list for 2009. Like the UCB and Stanford programs, UCLA offers multiple options for the MBA program. Aside from the executive track and the traditional full-time program, UCLA offers a "fully employed" MBA that lets business professionals maintain their current careers. It offers a global executive program as well. The school also offers a master's degree in financial engineering, a Ph.D. and an undergraduate accounting degree. Areas of study within the program are in the fields of strategy and policy, accounting, marketing, decisions, operations and technology management, organizational behavior and human resources, finance and global economics and management.
