The Best Business Colleges in Indianapolis

Indianapolis is known mostly for its historic raceway, the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, which hosts the annual Indy 500 auto race. The city, though, is a bustling metropolis in the heart of the state, and the area features some of the top business colleges in all of Indiana. As well, Indianapolis is home to multiple universities.

    • For more than 100 years, the college has operated as a business school. For most of that time, it was known as Indiana Business College. Now the Indianapolis business school is known as Harrison College. Harrison offers degrees in a range of fields. Its business school features degree programs in accounting, business management, finance, marketing and human resources. The college offers associate's degrees and diploma and certificate programs. A bachelor of science degree is available, too.

    International Business College

    • IBC was founded in 1889. The school, located in northeastern Indianapolis, offers career-focused programs that award students with an associate's degree or a diploma of completion in as little as eight to 18 months. International Business College designs its degree programs around the fastest growing occupations available. The school features three main program areas: business, design and technology, and health care. In the business field, degrees are available in accounting, administration, legal administration and travel. In design and technology, degrees are available in graphic design, network management and computer programming. In health care, degrees are available in dental assisting, medical assisting and veterinary assisting.

    Kaplan College-Northwest Indianapolis Campus

    • Kaplan College, located in Northwest Indianapolis, is a business school that offers both diploma and associate's degree programs. The school's associate's degree programs require approximately 14 months to complete. Meanwhile, the diploma programs require as little as 32 weeks of classroom and on-hands education. The courses are designed for fast movement from the classroom to the workforce. Much of the school's focus is on careers in the health field. Under the allied health umbrella, Kaplan offers diplomas that lead to careers as dental assistants, medical assistants and nurses. According to the school's website, the only associate's degree program currently offered from the Indianapolis campus is an associate of applied science in dental assistant administration. In 2006, the school changed its name from Sawyer College. It has campuses in Merrillville and Hammond. Kaplan Inc. is a worldwide educational company.
