One of the top accounting schools in Oklahoma, the University of Oklahoma also is one of the top business schools in country according to US News and World Report. The school offers accounting degrees to students pursuing a bachelor, master or doctorate degree. The university houses three business research centers: the Center for Financial Studies, the Center for MIS Studies, and the Center For Economic Growth and Research. Founded in 1926, Oklahoma State University's accounting program offers both graduate and undergraduate studies. The school offers two separate masters degree programs. In one program, undergraduate students earn a bachelors degree in four years and spend a final fifth year earning a masters degree. The other program allows students to begin their graduate studies in their senior year as an undergrad. The school also offers a doctorate degree in accounting and boasts of an esteemed faculty. Many OSU professors have been members of editorial review boards of academic journals including the British Accounting Review, Management Accounting Research, Journal of International Financial Management and Accounting and the Journal of International Accounting Research.

The mission of the accounting school at the University of Tulsa is to incorporate the latest technology to enhance the effectiveness of accounting within business. The university offers bachelor degrees, minor degrees and certificates in accounting as well as a master degrees in taxation. The main research facility, Heimlich Hall, provides classrooms with latest in accounting software. At this facility many students take part in individual research projects through The University of Tulsa Student Research Colloquium and the Tulsa Undergraduate Research Challenge.
Students within the program have the opportunity to join national student business groups including business fraternity Beta Alpha Psi, Information Technologists United and the National Association of Black Accountants.
