  1. California Polytechnic State University

    • Situated in Luis Obispo, Myron Angel founded California Polytechnic State University in 1901 as a vocational high school. Over the years the school evolved to become one of the leading universities in the United States according to U.S. News and World Report. DesignIntelligence ranked the school's architecture and design programs as third among the colleges in the nation. The school's architecture and design programs include Architectural engineering, architecture, city and regional planning, construction management and landscape management. All programs give emphasis on mathematics, science, oral and written communication, arts and natural sciences. The programs offered by the university include both classroom and hands-on training. To be admitted to the school's architecture and design programs, applicants must have above average SAT scores.

    University of California at Los Angeles

    • Founded in 1919, The University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA) offers graduate and undergraduate programs, for professional architect. The university's college of Arts & Architecture offers Bachelor of Arts in Architectural Studies, Master of Architecture (M. Arch. I), Master of Architecture (M. Arch. II), Joint M. Arch I and Master of Arts in Urban Planning and Ph.D. in Architecture. The school strives to strike a balance between practice and theory does it exposes its students to research and interdependent areas of structural designs and environmental science. As a policy, the university does not accept entering freshmen into the bachelor's program. Only those students from UCLA who are in the second year of another program and those students coming from other universities may be admitted. Applicants must have at least a GPA of 3.0 to be admitted into the program.

    • The College of Environmental Design (CED) at the University of California at Berkeley is one of the schools in the country to combine the disciplines of architecture, design and planning into one program. Programs offered by the school include Certificate in Interior Design & Interior Architecture, Bachelor of Arts in Architecture, Master of Architecture, Master of Landscape Architecture, Master of Science in Architecture - concentration in Design Theories, Methods and Practices and Ph.D. in Architecture with concentration in Design Theories, Methods, and Practices. The university has two research centers, world-class environmental design library, traditional and high tech tools. The school gives emphasis on creative research on environment friendly designs and structures.
